Hey lou,
Go to "Tools" and then the "Memorized Payees" list and you can delete out of there...
(Im using Quicken 2007, but I'm pretty sure that option has been in the software for years)

No problem -- Ran into this a few years ago -- I have a Payee called "Misc ATM Withdrawal" that I use quite a lot -- and whenever I have to write a one-time check to someone named Michael or go to the store "Michaels" (which isnt too often) I have to go in and remove the new one since i use the Misc one so much... Have fun! james-----thanks a million for the fix-------going to spend some time today cleaning out the names of one time payees

i was trying to figure this out last nite using help and mis interpeted the instructions under help --- and ended up hiding my checking link and i couldnt figure out how to get it back and i was totally paniced --- because i couldnt follow the help instructions on how to restore it--remembered another place in my documents where i was able to find it and rebuild the last 3 days of transactions --when i was done doing that THEN i found the place to restore the original hidden checking and now i had two shortcuts to the same thing so i just deleted one-- what a learning experience ---- does any of this make sense

Oh you techies - I understand that Quicken is pretty easy to use. I have the Video Professor Tutorial and I pretty much understand it, however I have never used it.
The system I use at work is called Blu Vista. It is a very powerful software system, and it took me all of two weeks to master it. (drum roll for Wheezie pleassie).
I never took any lessons, and I can whip around Word and Excel. I'm playing with Power Point right now.
This morning I taught myself how to find out when my bank actually posted an online payment.

Very cool Wheezie... The only software you need to master is the one you actually need to use
